Happy Thanksgiving to Everybody!

The United States annual Celebration of Thanksgiving is almost here. Canada already celebrated theirs on the 2nd Monday in October. The USA celebrates theirs on the 4th Thursday in November.

Since I've been on DN and have met people from all around the world, I've learned other countries have similar observances. There are many different histories behind each country's celebration, but they all have this in common, the celebration of a successful harvest, and being thankful for the blessings that they have.

My wallpaper has many traditional Thanksgiving foods in it. Food & shelter are great blessings. When I made this wallpaper, however, I also had another blessing in my mind--Desktop Nexus itself. Here are some of the things that I'm thankful for because of DN.

1. The wonderful people that I have met from all over the world. (You know who you are! Also I'm thankful for the people that I've yet to meet.

2. The privilege and joy of being able to make (or find) and upload designs. There is something deeply satisfying to working hard on a design or choosing a special photograph or artwork and knowing that thousands of people will see it.

3. I am thankful for the people who take the time to comment on our wallpapers. Sometimes that is other designers. Sometimes its people who don't design or upload, but they enjoy searching for eye catching designs. When a wallpaper is commented on and/ or favorited by anyone, that is so special! It's wonderful to know that people care about the work that you do.

4. I am thankful for the thousands of people who download the wallpapers. You make DN members very happy. You also help to make Desktop Nexux the great success that it is.

5. Most of all, I want to thank Harry Maugans /Komodo for founding this website and developing it into what it is today. Thank you also to Bonnie/Mimi Bunny, and Barb/Fireangls4, for working tirelessly to keep things running smoothly. I know there are many programmers and other volunteers who also give of their time and talents to help this website. Thank you all so much. You all bring meaning and pleasure to people in a world that can be tough to live in, at times. Desktop Nexus makes a big difference, to many, many, people.
