Orange and Green

Orange is the color between yellow and red on the spectrum of visible light. In painting and traditional color theory, it is a secondary color of pigments, created by mixing yellow and red. It is named after the fruit of the same name.

Green is the color between blue and yellow on the visible spectrum. In subtractive color systems, used in painting and color printing, it is created by a combination of yellow and blue, or yellow and cyan. By far the largest contributor to green in nature is chlorophyll, the chemical by which plants photosynthesize and convert sunlight into chemical energy.

Wallpaper Description:

I'm sure that I'm not the only one in North America to notice that Winter seems to be in an all fired hurry to get here this year. In Michigan it has resulted in extremely cold temperatures that have driven 95 percent of our beautiful Autumn Leaves off the trees earlier than usual.

Every Fall I collect all sorts of leaves and photograph them together. Then I use a kaleidoscope tool from my graphic arts program to make designs out of them.

I decided to make this particular design as much like a snowflake as possible. I give our chilly weather full credit for this idea. :P :D

PS. If you agree with me that this design looks like a snowflake, wait until you see it with inverted! When I saw the result, I knew that I had to upload it. :D
