Swans

Swan is any of various large, long-necked water birds which also includes geese and ducks. The swan is one of the largest, fastest swimming, and fastest flying waterfowl, and one of the longest living birds in general. The swan, which lives up to 19 years in the wild, and can live up to 50 years in captivity, usually mates for life. Swans often are a symbol of love or fidelity because of their long-lasting monogamous relationships. Its graceful swimming has made it a symbol for beauty. Swans also are revered in many religions and cultures,
Swans are found in all continents except Africa and Antarctica. An adult male swan is known as a "cob," while an adult female is a "pen," and a young swan is known as a "cygnet."

Wallpaper Description:

I've been doing a little exploring lately, and I've hit paydirt!!! :D

I discovered an unusual old photo of a certain Desktop Nexus friend of mine. Years ago she was apparently riding a large white goose around and somebody snapped a picture of her!

Instead of contacting the National Enquirer with this photo, I decided to make Betsey a birthday wallpaper of it instead.

Happy Birthday, Betsey! You'll always be a Brass Ring Winner in my book! :D :D :D

CollieSmile :)

PS. Okay, okay, I know that there are those of you out there that are having trouble believing this story. The part that makes the least sense of all is that I didn't sell this picture to the National Enquirer for thousands of dollars...lol :P

The left side of this wallpaper is actually a photograph that I took of a mural on a wooden 1913 Herschell-Spillman Carousel. It's located at Greenfield Village in Dearborn Michigan. This Carousel is 100 years old this year and is still running. They really knew how to build them back then!:D

PPS. Here is a link to another wallpaper I made of a mural on this same Carousel of a cow in a field:

Here is a link to a Polar Bear mural on the same Carousel:
