I would be interested in knowing why people have joined this group

I started this group because I am a First Nations woman as we are called here in Canada. And I really enjoy the beauty of my culture

I joined this group because of my interest for different cultures and history, and also I have special sympathy for people who have suffered a lot.
I grew up with stories of Indians and Whites - but soon discovered they where twisted pictures of what really happened.

Unfortunately there has been a lot of mis-information about Native people both here in Canada and the USA and is so many different issues leading to a lot of mis-understanding on both sides.

I have great respect for Native Americans. My neighbors (who are also my friends) are Native and have introduced me to the culture and crafts of their tribe, the Cherokee Nation. The beauty of the Native soul brings joy to my heart. My father had told me when I was young that there is Cherokee blood on his side, but sadly, most of the family has passed on and I have no concrete information. Please know that I wish to be part of this group to learn the truth. Linda

I have appropriate wallpapers for this group and I would like to see what other Ndn images folks are finding/making. I just left another group that wouldn't grant me the know how to add wallpapers to the group.

Would someone tell me the secret to uploading wallpapers to the group????

Hello Sybil,
to add an image to the Group, plese go to the image, then click on the green "Modify this Wallpaper"-button. The Window which opens then shows a row named "Groups". Click on it, and all possible Groups you are a member of are shown. Chose the Group, and then the button "Save". That's all. In this case all submissions must be moderated, that means, the image will appear when the Group Leader confirms it. So don't worry when it takes a few hours before your image is shown in the Group.

Ellen, it is a joy to belong to this group. I am learning much in researching the wallpapers I have uploaded. My creative nature is allowed the room to blossom on DN, and especially here in this group and in the complimentary one I have started on the Old West. Thank you. Linda

I am so pleased that you are enjoying this group and the fact that you are doing some research to the wallpapers--I have so many to get posted but just have not had the time and the same with some cultural posts that I want to get done
