Emotions

The word "emotion" dates back to 1579, when it was adapted from the French word émouvoir, which means "to stir up".
Emotions have been described as discrete and consistent responses to internal or external events which have a particular significance for the organism.
Emotions are brief in duration and consist of a coordinated set of responses, which may include verbal, physiological, behavioural, and neural mechanisms.

Feelings are best understood as a subjective representation of emotions, private to the individual experiencing them.

Moods are diffuse affective states that generally last for much longer durations than emotions and are also usually less intense than emotions.

Wallpaper Description:

Sometimes I Feel Like A Wolf...The Great Timber Wolf from legends of old...proud, strong, fearless, loyal, and brave. It's no wonder that the Native American Indians ascribed much of their internal strength and power to the spirit of the wolf..a strong affinity and bond carrying over to the spirit world and their strong belief in the intertwining of all things and a respect for the natural habitat from which they derived their life, strength, and peace...and guidance of the wolf along the path of life. Something has been lost in the modern world that can be learned from the legends and cultures of old. We would do well to be silent and listen, turning our eyes, ears, and hearts toward understanding, growing wise as we gain strength & wisdom. Let us respect the world & these magnificent creatures with whom we share kinship 7 gain strength of purpose & will & set our feet upon the path layed out before us if we may perceive that which is known among our kin & guides...mtlonewolf...
