Wicca

Wicca is one particular expression of Animism which emerges out of the broader witchcraft tradition. In many ways, Wicca is somewhat difficult to define as it has various expressions in different groups who claim to follow its way. These differences are often very distinct from one another as they relate to the use of magic, rituals, religious practice, and the spirit world.

Wicca: A modern Pagan religion with spiritual roots in the earliest expressions of reverence for nature. Some major identifying motifs are: reverence for both the Goddess and God; acceptance of reincarnation and magic; ritual observance of astronomical and agricultural phenomena; and the use of magical circles for ritual purposes.

Witch: A practitioner of folk magic, particularly that kind relating to herbs, stones, colors, wells, rivers, etc. It is used by some Wiccans to describe themselves. This term has nothing to do with Satanism.

Witchcraft: The craft of the witch - magic, especially magic utilizing personal power in conjunction with the energies within stones, herbs, colors, and other natural objects. This belief system also has nothing to do with Satanism.
