The Universe

what an amazing place, and one we essentially know nothing about, heck we know little about our own tiny solar system let alone the massive universe.

Wallpaper Description:

This weekend the first partnership between private (Tesla) and government (NASA) entities made its debut. Yesterday (05.30.20) the launch of Space X Dragon (designed by Tesla - supported by NASA) flew into space successfully. Today (05.31.20) the Dragon docked with the ISS to transfer 2 astronauts from Earth onto the space station for scientific research for the next 3 months.

This is a galaxy in space as seen via NASA's previous missions and explorations into our universe.

The Space X Dragon returned to earth August 2, 2020, not as a landing like during the shuttle period, nope, a splash down into the Atlantic ocean like was done in the 1970's. So they were traveling @ 17,500 mph (28,000 kph) in space, then during reentry into the atmosphere to 350 mph (560 kph), then finally to 15 mph (24 kph) at splashdown. The top G forces were four to five times the force of Earth's gravity. That's one intense ride. Plus all this took place on live television via https://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/nasatv/index.html#public .
