The snapdragon and summer snapdragon have a similar appearance, but belong to different genera within the Plantaginaceae family. Despite their similarities, they are two different species and unable to cross-pollinate or produce hybrids. Regular Snapdragon prefers cooler weather, where Summer Snapdragon Loves Heat and Deters Deer. There are multiple cultivars. Many flowered stalks adorn each plant, Snapdragon hybrids come in pastel and bright shades and are available in a variety of colors, including white, yellow, pink, red, orange, peach, purple and violet. Some varieties are bicolor, featuring two colors.
