Photo Manipulations

This group is for those who CREATE THEIR OWN WALLPAPERS

Photo manipulations or airbrushing can be dated back to the 1860’s when a photo of Abraham Lincoln was manipulated using the body from an image of John C. Calhoun. With today’s image editing software and digital cameras anyone can enjoy photo editing. This group is for those who CREATE THEIR OWN WALLPAPERS to upload. The images can be of just about anything you like as long as it is of at least three elements or more blended together to create something new.

Wallpaper Description:

The name of this wallpaper will be changed to "Power Lines & Stop Sign" on Monday the 25th, if I have the power to do it!

It's Sunday the 24th right now, about 1:30am. A "bomb cyclone" is predicted for most of Michigan, today. Once the winds get started, they will reach speeds of up to 60 miles per hour. People are being encouraged to hunker down in their homes and not to drive if at all possible.

This windstorm is predicted to be going for an 18 hour duration. The last time we had a windstorm this severe, 300,000 customers lost their power! We were one of them. We've been trying to prepare for a power outage just in case.

After I took this photo, I got to playing with it and I liked the results. There is a red stop sign in the middle of the wallpaper, and I mainly uploaded this for my Traffic Signals nSigns group. Since power lines are in this picture, however, I couldn't help thinking about what might happen to our power tomorrow. Stay tuned...

UPDATE
Monday February 25, 2019

As it turned out, 160,000 customers lost power in Michigan, but I didn't lose mine. Over 500 lines went down in the metro Detroit area alone. Trees and branches came down; in fact one branch crushed 3 cars at the same time! That was caught on camera, and it was on the news.

My husband's boss lost power and finally got it back today, and of course many other people were affected. My neighborhood definitely dodged the bullet. For which I am very thankful. :)
