Odd color eyes

The odd-eyed coloring is caused when either the epistatic (dominant) white gene (which masks any other color genes and turns a cat completely white)[4] or the white spotting gene (which is the gene responsible for bicolor and tuxedo cats)[5] prevents melanin (pigment) granules from reaching one eye during development,[3] resulting in a cat with one blue eye and one green, yellow, or brown eye. The condition only rarely occurs in cats that lack both the dominant white and the white spotting gene
For all kind of animals.
These eyes can be on humans too.

I don't have any wallpapers for this group, and I'm not sure that I ever will... but...

For those of you who upload wallpapers from on line, here are some breeds of dogs that you can watch for. They sometimes have odd colored eyes.

1. Siberian Husky. Often they have one blue eye and one brown eye.

2. Dalmatians-- Often have one blue and one brown, I think.

3. Australian Shepherds often do also.

4. Collies--- that are blue merle in color. Sometimes they have one blue and one brown eye each.

5. Shetland Sheepdogs (Shelties) if the dog is blue merle colored.

There are probably some other breeds that I am not thinking of, if anybody wants to chime in!

CollieSmile :)

PS. If any of you find collies or Shetland Sheepdogs with odd colored eyes and upload them, be sure to post them on my profile!!! :D

Very, true! I was just putting in a request for dogs, in particular collies! :P :D

I've seen odd eyed white cats before, like the one up in the header. The interesting thing is that I think there are very similar genes involved for both cats and dogs that have odd colored eyes.

Another animal that I have seen photos of with odd eyes is the horse. many paint/pinto horses have one blue and one brown eye.

I hope some people add some odd eyed wallpapers soon, no matter what kind of animal it is. If I see an odd eyed animal anywhere in my neighborhood, I'll chase 'em down with my camera! lol
