Homemade Abstracts

Do you usually upload wallpaper images that you see on line? Try doing something different. It is very fulfilling to create your own designs. You will be truly amazed at what you can create with graphics arts tools!

This group celebrates the joy of making your own wallpaper designs with a program, such as SUMO Paint, The Gimp, Paint Shop Pro, Photoshop, etc.

Using the SUMO Paint program is a great way to get started. You can try it for free on line. One of the best tools in it is the Gradient Tool. It is easy to use, and you can get beautiful results with it easily.

I made a couple hundred browser designs with SUMO Paint for free before I finally purchased it, so that I could use it off line also. I still use it for everything I make.

Whether you enjoy fractal patterns, kaleleidoscopic designs, interesting shapes, repeating patterns, or wild swirls of color, you will enjoy the walls displayed here. Be sure and add to them with your own creations!

Wallpaper Description:

As many people on DN know, I had a massive heart attack on December 9th. My daughter drove me to the hospital before we knew what was wrong with me. It felt like a giant had put his foot on my chest; and for some reason my right arm hurt a lot also.

The ER was very crowded. They took EKG's that appeared normal at first. But once they realized, through a blood test that I was having a heart attack, they rushed me back to give me a heart catheterization. I ended up getting 2 stents in my heart.

I had twilight sedation; they said I might even sleep through it. Not me! I talked to the doctors throughout the procedure. I did not feel pain, but it wasn't very comfortable. I asked them for pain medication 3 times, and I asked them all sorts of other questions about what they were doing and why. The head doctor was amazed at how alert I was and by how well I did afterwards. I bet that cardiac team will never forget me. lol

I know why I did and am still doing so well. I was at work when the heart attack began. We share our building with another company whose employees are Christians. Not only did they all start praying for me, my daughter let my son know what was happening. He called all sorts of people and told them to pass the word along; his mom needed prayer immediately! There were anywhere from 75 to 100 people lifting me up in prayer.

I was in resting in God's arms the entire time that I was having the heart attack. It was not my time to leave this earth. Prayer is so powerful... and I am so thankful.

I made this abstract to celebrate God's love and care for me during that challenging time. I guess you could say that this wallpaper is a thank you note to Him. What a wonderful gift He gave to me that day... the assurance that I would get through the heart attack and live on with a hope and a future.

I am alive. What a wonderful gift! I cannot think of a better Christmas present. :D

PS. God is so amazing. His love is limitless and unconditional. If you reach out to Him, He will reach back to you.

If I could give everyone on Desktop Nexus a Christmas gift, it would be to have a relationship with God like the wonderful one I have with Him. God bless you all. :) :) :)
