Make sure the image has either a subject (person, dress, item, animal, etc.) in grey tones or, the background is set in lots of grey. A grey day, winter scene in lots of grayness, weather, buildings, bridges, etc. is perfect.

Grey comes in many hues and tones: warm, cold, blue, yellow, pink etc.. These are all OK if the overtone is grey. Remember, this color is made of black and white and it looks like a pastel color.
