Not enough comments

I just wanted you to know that this concept is really great. It's sad though that I don't have a lot of comments due to not knowing enough DN members so therefore I can't post any. I certainly have enough downloads, favorites and points. Guess it pays to be popular. :0(

I have wrestled with this subject/dilemma for a few years here at DN. I can't say I have the right answer for you but I'll give a bit of background that may be helpful. Please feel free to ignore this response if I'm missing your point. At the time I joined DN most of the Groups had already been formed. Also I didn't know anyone here except for one user who suggested I try this site out. After posting a few pix and looking around the site it seemed to me that most of the Groups fell into two categories.
General Groups: Require a type or object, some kind of identifiers to belong to the Group. Color, Plant, Animal, Place, ect. Users seem to add pix to these groups in a spirit of camaraderie and sharing.
Prestige Groups: Require a set of objectives to be met in order to qualify for inclusion. Users seem to add pix to these Groups for the reasons listed above as well, but also in a spirit of friendly competition.
My observations seem to indicate that the "prestige type groups" have a level of difficulty associated with them that requires more "social flexibilty" to excel in them. They require an expenditure of time spent introducing ones self to other users and getting to know each other more personally than the "general type groups" do.
I don't know if this is "fair" but it does seem to be the dynamic here. I see that you belong to many Groups, some of each of the type I have tried to describe. I also struggled along for a very long time, trying to introduce myself to others and make acquaintences. There are a lot of users who have been here a very long time and it isn't always easy to get them to allot some of their time to newer users. We all have schedules and responsibilities that make it difficult to do all the things we would like.
My own best efforts came from starting a few Groups of my own, and helping others design or moderate Groups for themselves. It can be a slow process at times and certain times of the year are slower for user participation as well. Generalizing your uploads into the most popular styles could be helpful. I don't do that myself, I prefer a particular style of upload, and it hurts my "stats" so to speak but thats just me.
If there is anything I can do to help feel free to let myself or sweetwitchy know. We are always happy to help out.
Brian

Hi Annie, I understand about not receiving lots of comments, I have found that if you vote and comment on others wallpapers, then they will vote and comment on yours...like a trade. It isn't really about popularity. I realize, like Brian said, we all have schedules, with work, school and other activities, but if you can make time to put yourself out there and comment on other members uploads, you'll see that they will comment on yours in return. I'm one of those members that have been here a long time, and I enjoy seeing what other members upload...it doesn't matter how long they've been here or what type of wallpaper they share...voting and commenting is the key...your stats on your uploads will increase and you might make a new friend or two.Karyn
