Anime

We imagine that most of you started watching anime after seeing it on TV or on the Internet. But hey! maybe you have friends that told you to try it.

I was a big fan of Pokemon and Sailor Moon at age 7 but when my real passion started was at age 12. I happened to rent Love Hina from the video shop and I've had a passion for anime ever since. Back then though anime wasn't very well known here and it was hard to come by. But in recent years it's become more popular :).

I started by downloading anime walls. Then decided the only way I was really going to learn about what I was downloading was to start watching anything and everything I could get my hands on regarding anime movies and televised series. Been a huge fan ever since.

My friend but then i became addicted and i finished a 43 ep (Great Teacher Onizuka) In 3 days :S

Lol Priest, well done. I do much the same thing myself when I find a series I really like. Haven't had a peak at that one yet. So grabbing a copy will be my next priority. Wiki has some great info about it. So I'm looking forward to another great anime series to watch.

OK!!! Expansion on my first comment about what got me into anime. I was an artist, but due to a medical condition, I lost the ability to draw and paint. Fortunately for me, my discovery of anime turned into an artistic outlet that helped a lot in getting over the loss of my artistic abilities. I have always loved the way the Japanese artists use simple flowing lines in their art and when I saw my first anime wall, it was that and the eyes of the character I was looking at, that blew me away. The eyes alone are an art form in themselves and pivotal in nearly all char walls. Then there is of course the beauty and cuteness of the characters. I often look at a particular wall and ask what was going on in the mind of the artist while he/she was creating a particular piece. For me it is an ongoing flow of incoming information that I still learn a great amount from.

Aww that's a sweet story. I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your artistic abilities due to a medical condition :(. I'm glad that anime has managed to help you. I agree, I love the use of simple flowing lines and I'm especially fond of the eyes.

Probably TV was when I started with Pokemon and DBZ but I didn't really know it was anime at the time haha.. What got me hooked was probably when I was recommended to watch Love Hina (Fan of romance animes).. After that I've been a lover of anime :)

Soy nuevo en el grupo y me gustaría también dar mi opinión; como dicen yo inicie viendo anime por la televisión, eso fue como a los 6 años pero a la edad donde me adentre mas y ser fanático del anime fue hasta los 21 años de edad, desde entonces escucho música J-rock, me gustan los doramas japoneses y el 96% de mis imágenes son de anime =D

I am new to the group and I would also give my opinion, as I say start watching anime on TV, that was like 6 years but at the age where I lose myself more and be a fan of the anime was only 21 years old since then hear J-rock music, I like Japanese dramas and 96% of my pictures are of anime = D

Not sure if that is right or not.
