My name is Denise,

I have two new kittens named Melody and Kiara. My husband and I adopted them from the Michigan Humane Society when they were 8 weeks old. They are now 16 1/2 weeks old, and they are very lively and fun loving kittens. I feel like we rescued them from being put to sleep. We were looking for a couple of kittens when 2 of our other kittens passed away back in June of this year.

Melody is black and white and has a very special pattern, and Kiara is all black. Both have black stripes going down both sides of their bodies.

We adopted them about 3 months after we had lost 2 kittens that passed away from feline leukemia. I wanted to get 2 kittens that were sisters at that time, and we ended up with 3. We have one cat left from the litter of 3 and they were 2 brothers and 1 sister, at that time.

Now that we have Melody and Kiara, it makes things a little easier for us, because the kittens that we lost just his past June, have passed away 6 days away from each other. One of the boy kittens and the girl. Their names were Loverboy and Kiara I. Darkman was from that litter, and he was the only one who survived the leukemia.

We named Melody after my husband's mother, who passed away in March of this year, and Melody's sister, Kiara II was named after Kiara I.

What do you think of that? I'm just curious to know.
