Can someone please explain this Twilight craze to me? I saw the movie, and while it's decent, I don't understand the obsession. I have heard the book is very descriptive as well... but I am still in absolute awe at the attention it's receiving.

The film is pretty good but they left out tons of scenes (obviously due to time limits and such) which are included in the book.
The books are... well yeah... absolutely amazing. I think for the girls it is the "OMG OME (Oh my Edward lol)" factor and the love bit, but I also think that the plot to quite a few of the books is really cool... especially Eclipse is almost like a romantic detective novel lol.
So if ur a guy I can understand y ur confused lol. If ur a girl then u seriously need to read the books to understand lol.
I'm not saying that guys shouldn't read them (I have many guyfriends (not gay ones) who like them as well) but they tend to find them a little soppy and a lot of eye-ball rolling goes on
I agree with you though, the film wasn't that brilliant in my opinion (and no I did not go in there thinking "this is never going to be as good as the books", I actually really wanted to like it but they mushed too many scenes around.

Yes i like the Books ,but one thing drives me Crasy ,suddenly all Gothic or Dark Romance Lovers are referred as Twilight addicted ,sometimes if i walk in Goth style around (I do it not often beside on Party's ) some say "Look that is a Twilight Girl" then I'd like to draw out my beloved Mr. Pointy (Silver/wood stake) and stake there Hearts ,of course only in mind .The Point is ,that the Vampire Myth include the wish of many Females after a fulfilling ,endless and earnestly Love and that the Twilight books stand for ,in a (please forgive me Twilightaddict) very Teen Style Version. ..♥BUSSI♥ Melanie

I totally agree with you. It has become kinda annoying in that aspect. I don't like the fact that some kinda use it as a trend or whatever. I only love the books for their contents and the story of Edward and Bella (I don't even have a crush on Edward lol) and trust me I'm no Goth. I walk around like a ray of sunshine most the time lol.
Oh and I know it's only really for teens I read plenty of "grown-up" books (like I read Da Vinci Code" when I was 9 lol) but I like to reaturn to my own element sometimes too

i REALLY loved the movie, but the books are a hundred times better.... Stephanie Meyer has a wonderful way of writing... she's so descriptive and, I dunno about others, but to me it was like I was right there....! And yeah, helps if you a chick... the way Edward talks to her and treats her ohhhh my word............

I loved all four of the books esp., breaking down. I agree Stephanie Meyer has awonderful writing tequique, her other book the host was exciting but thrilling.
Edward Cullen is like the teen dream (even though he is like an centery old) but he is sweetheart, what I like most about him is how in the second book he was going to go away just to give Bella a normal life even though he loves her so much and when thought she saw Bella jump he was going to give himself over to the Volurea so he could not live without her. Then there is Jacob, Edward would let Bella go to Jacob if she wanted to because he loved her so much that he did not want to see her upset. It was sad but romantic.

I only bought the books like six weeks ago and then saw the film about four weeks ago, feel in love straight away. Stephanie Meyer is a genius writing all of the books! My friends were all trying to tell me that Harry Potter is still better but i really have got to disagree the Twilight saga kicks butt.
The way that Edward (my dream guy) is so old fashioned the way he wants to protect Bella is just the sweetest thing on the planet. Love Jacob to pieces as well although I have to say that he did annoy me a little bit in New Moon and Eclipse when he was all in love with Bella. Me and my mate were both reading the book at the same time and it turned out that both of us were shouting at the books telling him to back off and let her go back to Edward.
I don't get why people are comparring Twilight fans to goths. I mean come on.... all of my friends and me deffinatly are not goths and we all love it. I get the feeling that that started because goths are supposed to like vampires and stuff and the books focus around a love of vampires.
