First of all i would to say I like the new stream lined Design BUT there is a big tear in my Eye for all the work i have done for customize a background and Font (It was my first work to do such thing ,and Iam not good at all in web page design )for my home Page
It feels a bit as it snatch the Individuality totally from DN and for me personaly it is a problem to look at a white Page because i use mostly a 30" dell Ultrasharp for work at home to display very large Medical Pictures like CRT x-rays and others in 2560x1600 ,and it is for me like i look into a blinding light .
I know that the new design must be a hard work (many sleepless Nights) for you ,and I admire your constant achievement for the community on DN but
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give us back a small posibility to make the page Individual only a personal background and some adjustments in font and box colors together with the new page Design would be perfect ..
I dont want to to whine please don't think such things .I Have no professional knowledge about bandwidth and how much memory such things cost it is only a respectful request...
Oh and i miss the last 6 new Uploaded Wallpaper's on the personal page it was cool to see them together with the rest of the page as a colorful spot and to see whats new with the Member at one look and it was good to see who is online at the own Page ...... ღ Bussi ღ ..Melanie
I do not like the idea of the time of day being kept of when I log in at all! There is no other site that I have come across that does that and I don't particularly like the idea of some being able to learn my logging in habits. I think that is just offering a tad too much info and unnecessarily so imo.
I agree with this 110%.....That's why I made the "spying" remark. Though it may have been public knowledge before, as to all a person did on DN, it wasn't so glaringly in-your-face as it is now. And my "Home" tab is packed with so much minutia about what the people I am a Fan of are doing and saying, it crowds the page up WWWAAYY TTTOOO MMMUUUCCCHHH!!!!! I know a little about site-design myself, and all these little things can be fixed easily. Harry, you could also create an extension to the site where we could at least use Wallpapers as backgrounds.....Just a thought.
Call me socially retarded but I really don't see the purpose of being a fan or having fans. I mean, if the the server knows that I like somebody, then what? If I like somebody, I'm quite sure they will feel it through out any conversation with me. So showing off my fans and being of fan of others is to my opinion completely pointless.
I think I'm not going to use this feature. So that no one wonders why I'm not a fan of them. It is simply not the server's or other people's business whom I like or not like!
This fan feature reminds me on Facebook's friend feature. Is there a limit of fans one can have? I saw on Facebook people with about 200 or even 300 friends. Ha, ha, very funny. Who the hell is could have so many friends? I mean only because they once talked to each other, they can't be friends. That really only would be a cheap definition of "friend".
... OK, maybe I'm thinking here more of "close" friends rather just friends as in he/she is not my enemy ...
Out of all the screen saver and wall paper sites, this one is absolutely the best of them all. Great pics and downloads come out crystal clear. But I do have to admit the new change IS rather boring.
@Huxley: You should realize that "friend" and "fan" are not the same. This is probably my way of expaining myself, but if you have somethig against of me being a fan, no problem. There's alway the option "stop being a fan". I felt called out with this post of yours, so I had to reply on it.
