Is anybody using their Journal? I am going to try to add a quote to mine every time I am on line.

Yes ! I use my Journal. It's a format that is really challenging for me. I use to right in a regular note book and did not care about spelling , grammar , sentence structure , or the mood in which I would right. In this form , some one just-might-read what I have written about. With that in mind I think real hard about the impression I wish to leave of myself after I've pressed the ' send ' button. The topics that I write about will give insight as to who and what I am. I like using my Journal; it helps me to stay focused.

silverback 78 I like what you said about writing things down what I'm feeling and that is something I would like to do. I just wonder if life is what I make it to be, what I mean is when a person has a stroke and life is not the same what do I do? that is a question that has been in my mind for 8 years. I used to go fishing traveling, camping, and most of all dancing and now I'm limited. I have tried to get back to some of life's pleasure but it is hard when I have to depend on others for help. I would like to go fishing but all my socall friend don't like it and then meeting a woman thier is no luck on that. I'll be back tomorrow by the way Thanks siverback78

when something like a stroke or back accident happens you pick yourself off the ground and keep going as best as you know how
when I was working in 1984 I had an industrial accident at work--I had the choice to keep on working or go on a small pension--and I choose to stay at that occupation and let me tell you it was not easy and over the years I learned how to manage the pain.
to this day I go through a lot of pain each and every day but I still am active in a lot of sports etc--even on the days that I can barely move and I am in a chipper frame of mind and push myself to be active
yes there are sometimes that the human body can not over come physcial changes--then there has to be an emotional sense of strength that keeps life from getting you down--learn to accept and appreciate what you can do and move on reflectling on the past will never help one recover and it is true that your state of mind has a lot to do with physcial recovery

AMEN to that !! "Never give up " : My wife has been living with health issues for well over ten years now. Watching her live with the pain , the good-days , the bad-days , the side affects from her medications , mood swings , and a list of other discomforts forced us to ; " accept and appreciate " or curl up on the couch and die !

We chose to Accept and Appreciate... I had to learn how to care for her in such a way some people might think me cruel. I had to ' back-off ' and keep my mouth shut when she was going to push herself at a task that could have easily brought on a heart attack.

Oh... did I forget to mention that the Doctors had done every thing they could for her and had sent her home to die ....

So Richard... with your eyes getting better , you'll be able to look forward more clearly
Eh ?
