 | Posted by komodo, 9/23/09 2:34 PM - Permalink We used to have a drug related category, but it did conflict with our "family-friendly" and "no illegal themes" rules. Because of that, we made the decision to delete that category and all wallpapers within it. Sorry about that, but we were trying to clean up the site a bit. |

| Posted by twilitegypsy, 9/24/09 1:10 AM - Permalink I admire a site that takes this kind of stance way to go |

| Posted by Marijuano, 9/24/09 8:44 AM - Permalink Can i get the wallpapers on a other website? Now who there are been deleted.. Or are they gone for ever?.. |

 | Posted by komodo, 9/24/09 3:14 PM - Permalink They're completely deleted. I'm sorry. If you want those kind of wallpapers, you'll have to look elsewhere. |

| Posted by HuxleyStronghead, 9/26/09 5:38 AM - Permalink If that stuff to take is illegal. All representations of it are illegal, too. Which simply means that those who enforce the law will be after it. So, if DN was to keep them, DN could get a problem with the law. If DN wasn't to get a problem with the law. Then those who enforce the law must get a problem, because they are not doing their job.
Worst case, if the law enforcer don't have any protocols on that, then the government itself deserves to be raided. |

| Posted by bolaji, 10/2/09 7:12 PM - Permalink I can see that. Marijuana being a "soft" drug, I don't see any reason to remove those. @ HuxleyStronghead....what? I didn't understand a bit of that. What I would like to see go are uploads of personal photos. Who in the world is going to use a personal photo of someone else or their friend, relatives, whatever as their wallpaper?? I find this (and duplicate wallpapers) frustrating to have to sort through. I think we should have a "request to remove" option with a 30 character note as to why. |

| Posted by SoulRedeemer, 10/12/09 6:55 PM - Permalink With bolaji. I very rarely see duplicate wallpapers on DN. I my self have uploaded wallpapers before but found out someone has already uploaded it. Even tho i do a search if mine is already uploaded i usually never find them, either because they have a different name as what I'm naming mine or is a totally different category. The "request to remove" feature might be a problem with some. For example just say i upload wallpaper 1A and then 2 months later someone uploaded another copy of wallpaper 1A they could try to request mine to get removed even tho i uploaded it first. You understand but its really up to komodo. |

 | Posted by komodo, 10/13/09 10:24 PM - Permalink Even if marijuana is a "soft drug", it's still a "drug" and is illegal. We can't support that while maintaining a family-friendly label.
As for the 'Remove a Wallpaper" suggestion, we do have a feature for reporting violations already, but I understand it doesn't cover personal/family photos. You might love your family, but I doubt other members who don't know you want to use it as a wallpaper on their computer. For now, just shoot me or a moderator a PM and we'll delete the image manually. If it becomes an epidemic, I'll look into implementing a more formal system. |
