I don't know what Komodo told DA. But just to inform all from DA here. A new DMCA Copyright Violation link has been added to the report system. Just not that you DA people miss the possibility of a report again. :/

And I really hope that not more crap from DA is to come. Because actually we really have other problems to take care of here.

I would like to see the members of DN stop uploading things from dA.. It's not as if this whole mess were secret. That would put an end to it all.

Yeah, I think a another topic, explaining a few things about copyright and giving credit may be good for DN, too. :/

I once again would like to emphasize that members who are uploading wallpapers may not be aware of the fact that they are uploading a work that belongs to a DA member, because they themselves (DN members) may have found that WP on another site.

Please propose practical solutions to the issue.

I do not believe they are unaware.. I believe they know exactly what they are doing, and just don't care. dA is to big and too easy to take art from. The most practical solution is the one I gave.. Inform all DN members that dA is not Public Domain and uploading images from there is a copyright violation. That would reduce the violations by 90%. The rest is easy enough to take care of.

True. I already mentioned that any artist should put his/her name into a JPEG file. Maybe, if they don't spoil the image, they should also put in a signature always. Which should even survive if the info in the JPEG file gets lost, somehow.

However, to be clear on this one more time. Though, I hope I actually understand this correctly. If the signature gets blurred out. I think that is indeed already a copyright violation and must be reported and not even uploaded at all.

The point is that mistakes have been made, whether intentional or unintentional. The only thing that can be done now is for any and all DN members to cease uploading here any images that come directly from DA without getting written permission from the artist and giving them recognition.

As far as uploading a DA image that came from another wallpaper site? This is where the DMCA copyright violation really is most helpful because the person that downloaded the image might not remember from what website they got the image from; therefore, would not be able to give the original artist a trail to track down.

If an image is uploaded here from another wallpaper sharing website without the knowledge of any copyright, then should that person receive criticism and be called a thief and be harassed? No, not imo. This again is where the only best answer is to file a DMCA Copyright Violation, have the work removed from that website, and do all that is possible on the artists' side to protect their work with a watermark so that not ANY wallpaper website gets a clean download.
