HOW DO I KNOW IF A PHOTO I HAVE IS FROM A PUBLIC DOMAIN AND NOT COPYRIGHTED AND THEREFORE SAFE TO UPLOAD HERE. I HAVE PICTURES FROM YEARS AGO AND DID THE "SAVE PICTURE AS" SO NOW I DONT REMEMBER WHAT SITE THEY CAME FROM. I WOULD JUST TYPE IN THE SEARCH BOX,LETS SAY "LEOPARD" THEN CLICK ON "IMAGES" THEN CLICK ON A PICTURE I LIKED AND IT WOULD TAKE ME 2 THE WEB SITE AND ID SEARCH THIER AND FIND A PHOTO I LIKED AND WOULD DO "SAVE PICTURE AS".

THANKYOU AND HAVE A GREAT DAY :) DEB

if you saved the picture under it site name (no mods) a google search for the full title will, more often than not, get to where it came from -- sometimes three of four sites come up -- pretty good indication it's public domain.

Most images on the web are copyright protected. If in doubt don't upload.
Try visiting "TinEye Reverse Image Search" to search for your images.

Some people think anything on a search engine (Google, Bing) is public domain. Wrong!
The easiest and best way to find images is to simply type in Public Domain Wallpapers or images. Select a less popular site though, to not duplicate images already here.
