I've been browsing around this site for awhile but never setup an account. I saw an image today that is incredibly fitting for a poster I am doing for a paint party and I wanted to make sure I had a clear understanding of the copyright policy here as it varies from site to site. Can images from this site be used in posters freely or is this against the rules for the site. Thanks!!

Desktopnexus does not claim nor have any right to the images found here. They are uploaded by our members, and unless we receive a copyright violation notice by the original artist, we hope they are Public Domain. If you click on Upload a wallpaper, you will see our Guidelines, which include information about Copyrights.. It won't help you get approval, but it shows that we support the Copyright laws.
Normally, I would suggest you contact the uploader of that wallpaper, to see if they remember where they found it, but I've checked her Profilepage and see that she hasn't been online in almost a year. There is also a site called Tineye that tracks art......I'm not too familiar with it, but I think you can put in the url for that page and if it shows other copies, it might lead you to the original. If that's the case, you will need to contact the artist for permission.. If everything fails....you might consider it Public Domain.
Of course, we can't allow you to show any link to Desktopnexus on the poster....
