Okay in the sprit of the season what was the scariest movie you ever watched ?

I'll start : It was the original Amityville Horror movie
When the girl that had just drowned walked past her mom and up the attic
stairs that was it I shut it off and turned on all the lights.
Too much of an imagination I think.

You know, I can't say that I have seen totally scary movies, but Freddie Kruger, and Michael Myers still get me, and I still like them...:)Those are classics for me...:P:):)

The original of The Haunting in black and white (not the lame remake with Liam Neeson). You didn't actually SEE anything ... everything was implied by the actions of the cast and by sounds. It scared the daylights out of me!

When I was younger I watched Independence Day (ID4) when it came on video tape. I always had some fear with aliens. And those black, mouth-less and big headed things just spooked the hell out of me.

I also played the game Doom 3. Many did wet their pants, I wasn't really one of them. But twice I got a surprise attack. Once I thought a dark corner is empty and then suddenly a fat zombie walked out of the shadow, and he stood right in front of me. Face to face.

Another time I just shot down those things a hole bunch of. I went back to get some ammunition, then when I turned, suddenly the door opened behind me an a monster rushed right towards me. I thought I killed all, so I kinda got shocked.

EDIT: 'fear' not 'fair'.

The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre & the original Night of the Living Dead. And Psycho. TCM was the most horrifying, disgusting, grotesque thing I've ever seen in my entire life, bar none. And my husband loved it, it was he who insisted I see it actually, that & Night of The Living Dead. Another horrifying movie to me.

What is it with B & W horror movies anyway ? They always seem so much worse. And Psycho is such a classic.

Damn...thank you all for listing those movies, i gotta see them now. but...the most scariest thing in a movie is when its gets quiet and the tension builds up then..BAM! a loud or scary thing happens and it makes you jump out of your chair...and then when you go to bed you have a dream about it.those types of movies. I can't list any there's too many.
