Eragon may be a good movie, and an excellent book, but don't you think 20th Century FOX wasted too much money making a movie that doesn't even follow the book!?
Unfortunately a number of movies do not follow the book, or at least the edited version does not. A number of thngs happen to cause this, one can just be the director's personal decision, two - length of the film, budget, three - editing room, four - producers pick parts that they believe tell the story, just to name a few..
Look at the Lord of the rings movies, longer version folowed the books better but still was guilty of changing the story in a few places.
I agree. Actually it was my daughter that posted "What's up with this?" There's alot in a book that can't be put into a movie so director's and such need to fill in where a gap might be with something, making it change the story slightly. It also makes the movie more interesting or enjoyable to watch. Usually though, the book will always be better than the movie.

I thought that Eragon was a really good movie--had heard that there was a second one in the works but have seen nothing yet. Anyone know anything about a new movie?
