 | Posted by _Your_Savior_, 10/6/09 6:47 PM - Permalink Not from this site, all wallpapers are virus free
and its EXTREMELY rare to see ANY type of virus in a normal picture. I doubt you'll see one in your lifetime.
But yea, its possible to get a virus from saving just about anything, much more so then viewing the page itself |

 | Posted by _Your_Savior_, 10/9/09 5:05 PM - Permalink you dont have to do that, its too much of a hassle to scan every file
and most people dont even know how to embed anything into anything, so dont worry about it |

It's not perfect but it works well enough, and I have a friend who is an IT for IBM who can help me I get into serious trouble. |

| Posted by SoulRedeemer, 10/12/09 7:08 PM - Permalink I use Mozilla Firefox and with that is a great add-on called DownloadStatusBar and with this add-on you can set your anti-virus to scan the files you download. I use avast professional and it has a quick scan application which makes it perfect to use with this add-on. I did read somewhere that yes pictures can contain a virus but its very rare and i doubt DN has any "harmful" wallpapers. Also if you use a suitable anti-virus they all should have Real-Time scanners that basically protect you against zero time threats, |

| Posted by palmsera, 7/17/10 12:13 AM - Permalink what happens if the operating system is linux ?. |

| Posted by opuntia, 8/12/10 8:48 PM - Permalink Linux, as far as I know, has no present virus problem unlike the Windows OS. Pretty much all virus issues affect Windows which is very very popular among the masses--Linux is only used by a small percentage. As Linux is incompatible with any virus affecting Windows, it is unaffected--unless you use Wine-compatible downloads (Wine is used to utilize certain Windows programs on Linux). |
