Well I am new to this site and I just wanted to say that I'm ticked I didn't know about it earlier! I love the wallpapers that you guys and gals have on here. So much so that it has inspired me to try to learn illustrator a little more to get to create something. So my question to any of you is, how would I get started on something like this one? http://technology.desktopnexus.com/wallpaper/68209/? I absolutely love it and want to learn the skills to make something like this. Do anyone know of any tutorials or sites/books that I can look at? Thanks in advance everyone!

Ice18 gave you a great program, I use it all of the time to make fractals. Take a look at my profile when you get a chance, those were all made with Apophysis 7X and finished in GIMP.
The wallpaper you posted is just the stock Vista wallpaper photoshopped a bit with Photoshop or GIMP. They merely changed the hue of the picture.

@kk4life:
Have you tried Malwarebytes or SUPERAntiSpyware? Not much gets past those two.

http://superantispyware.com/
Also try safe mode and changing the .exe names of them. They should run fine and kill that for you. Also remember to turn off system restore before running either of those.

You don't actually make something like that, it automatically comes with your desktop when you buy a computer that has Windows Vista on it! lol. The person apparently just uploaded it from their windows backgrounds.

Check out this tutorial; you can make something similar to the one you linked using methods taught here:http://gimp-tutorials.net/mac-wallpaper-tutorial

[S]Haven't been there in a while, but I'd check out about.com for tutorials. I saw a really good tutorial for illustrator and a great one for photoshop there. They probably still have them.[/S]
